the tommie philosophy
tommie magazine is an online and in real life community, that provides a platform for critical conversation and connection within the sustainable fashion discourse – it is ‘the destination for creative Women with a conscience’, where we amplify and centre the voices and work of majority Black, Indigenous and Women of colour communities; the original pioneers and trailblazers of sustainability. Our main area of focus when we talk about sustainable fashion, is through the lens of second hand clothing, the democratisation of fashion, with a focus on personal style and the ethics of fashion. Our work is about redefining and decolonising sustainability in the fashion and environmentalism space, through dismantling and disrupting its colonial roots.
